Great ideas for Helping Baby |
This book gave me several good ideas for helping my baby go to bed at an earlier hour. I put two of these to use the same night (a pre-bedtime routine and an early bedtime hour) and I was surprised at how baby responded. He went off to sleep by 8:00 and slept until 7:15 the next morning! It has been working every night since.
Also included are ideas for weaning baby from nursing and from co-sleeping. The author is a breastfeeding, co-sleeping mom and her book is supportive of those types of arrangements.
The book is not , however, original. That is to say, everything that is suggested is something someone has done already. The book accumulates all of these successful ideas in one place. |

tearing our home apart |
| I hate this book. It's done nothing but cause fights in our house. I want to burn it, chop it up, and throw it into the deepest dumpster. |

Hundreds of ideas to help your baby sleep |
I was a frazzled mother who was relieved to find a baby-and-family oriented voice offering gentle solutions for sleep that pulled us out of the nightmare of sleep deprevation. Our little boy was beautiful and sweet, but he would only sleep if being rocked or breastfed and he woke up many times each night for this care. He also would not nap except in the sling.
Thanks to this book my son is now sleeping all night and napping twice daily. I am again sane and well rested, and he appears to be happier as well.
Some of the ideas presented are common sense and you say 'why didn't I think of that?' and others are refreshing and new and amazingly effective. I did follow the instructions to write our sleep plan in the book and this made it easy to follow. I only did one sleep log and never needed to do another since we all were sleeping fine and saw no need to confirm that fact!
The brilliance of this book is the grand assortment of ideas that you can choose from. You find pearls of wisdom and tips on nearly every page. If one ideas does not work, simply choose the next until you have a sleeping child. There is also plenty of reassurance and comfort in the words written by a mother who has walked the same road and understands how serious the issue is for us.
I cannot praise this book highly enough and look forward to other reads by the same author. |
